The Realme 12 Pro looks premium, and its specifications seem good, but how well does it perform in real-world use, especially during gaming?

I used this phone for a couple of days, and here is how it performed after intense use while playing heavy games and doing heavy tasks.

Recently Realme announced the launch of the “Realme 12 Pro” in India on January 29th. The Realme 12 Pro 5G comes with top-level specifications under the Rs 33,999 range in India, and it is under Rs 25,000 after applying all offers.

The Realme 12 Pro has stereo speakers, enhancing the mobile gaming experience even without earphones or earbuds. 

5G VoNR5G VoNR Support

  • The 5G VoNR feature plays a major role in our performance review of the Realme 12 Pro, maintaining call quality.
  • Without VoNR, making calls on a 5G network forces the device to switch to 4G, potentially causing gameplay interruptions.

  • We can play games and do other activities outdoor or bright place, enhancing gaming performance.

  • The weight of the Realme 12 Pro is 190g, which is under 200g.
  • We, Gamers generally prefer smartphones that weigh less than 200g, as heavy phones are not ideal for gaming.
  • As this is on the lighter side, playing games is easier. When I played for one hour, I didn’t feel any pain in my hand.

In terms of weight, I can say it enhances your gaming performance.

Overall, it’s a solid mid-range processor for casual games, offering a good balance of performance and battery savings (due to the 4nm processor) without major slowdowns or performance problems.

  • The Realme 12 Pro has UFS 2.2 Storage, which is disappointing as other brands offer UFS 2.3 at this price.
  • File transfer, copy-paste, downloading, and taking files from other devices through nearby share works at an average speed on the Realme 12 Pro. The 5G downloading speed also does not perform up to the mark.

Positives (Pros) :

  • Fast Charging: The 67W fast charging support allows you to quickly charge your phone from 0% to 100% in 45 minutes.
  • Balanced Performance: The Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor offers a good balance of performance and battery efficiency for everyday use.
  • Camera: Realme 12 Pro has best Camera. It gives fantastic photos quality also it comes with telephoto lens which gives you DSLR like photos.
  • No throttling: It has no throttling issue. 

Negatives:

  • Occasional Frame Drops: The phone might experience occasional frame drops with graphically demanding games at high settings.
  • Heating Issues: Extended gaming sessions can lead to heating issues I have seen 42°C.
  • Limited Graphics Performance: The lack of a more powerful GPU and processor limits the phone’s gaming performance.
